Santiago, September 2020.- Colección de Origen, Santa Rita’s ultra premium wines, achieved excellent results in Descorchados 2021, the leading wine guide by Patricio Tapia. The quality and consistency of these wines was once again featured, with Casa Real Reserva Especial 2018 being awarded 98 points and included in the rankings “Best Reds”, “Best Cabernet Sauvignon” and “Best Maipo Andes”. The elegance and balance of Casa Real have positioned it among Chile’s most important wines, being the first South American wine to be named “Wine Legend” by Decanter.
In addition, Floresta Carmenere 2018 also obtained 98 points, chosen as the “Best Carmenere” of Chile, “Best Apalta” and “Best Reds”. Apalta becomes the leading terroir for Carmenere in Chile, where dry farmed old vines give way to balanced and unique wines.
“These recognitions fill us with energy and satisfaction. Alto Jahuel and Apalta are two places with a great tradition, sense of origin and wine culture that have managed to rank among the most recognized terroirs in the world with Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere, respectively. We are very proud to be able to help continue building and enhancing the history of these valleys”, comments Sebastián Labbé, Winemaker of Ultra Premium wines at Santa Rita.
These two recognitions are added to those obtained by the rest of the wines that make up the Colección de Origen. Pewën de Apalta 2019 was distinguished with 96 points; Floresta Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 with 95 points and being named as “Revelation Wine”; Floresta Cabernet Franc 2019 with 94 points as well as Bougainville 2018; and Triple C 2017 with 93 points.
