Two Santa Rita wines were selected by Patricio Tapia as the best for this year.
Santiago, December 2020.- After tasting more than 2.600 wines for its annual guide Descorchados 2021, the journalist and critic Patricio Tapia selected the best ten red wines for this year, highlighting two wines from Santa Rita: Casa Real Reserva Especial 2018 and Floresta Carménère 2019, both with 98 points.
Casa Real Reserva Especial 2018, the icon wine of Santa Rita sourced from Alto Jahuel and recognized as one of the most emblematic Cabernets of the country, was also included in the rankings “Best Reds”, “Best Cabernet Sauvignon” and “Best Maipo Andes”. The elegance and balance of Casa Real have positioned it among Chile’s most important wines, being the first South American wine to be named “Wine Legend” by Decanter.
In addition, Floresta Carménère 2019 was chosen as the “Best Carmenere” of Chile, considered in the rankings “Best Apalta” and “Best Reds”. Apalta becomes the leading terroir for Carménère in Chile, where dry farmed old vines give way to balanced and unique wines.
