June 2020.- China is well known for its huge ecommerce market, activity that has become even more important in the current world Covid-19 pandemic. Similar to Black Friday or Cyber Monday global events, the Asian Giant has 6.18, an online retail festival that coincides with the creation of JD.com in June 18, 1998, being the largest mid-year event.
6.18 released its top 10 “Best performing wineries” ranking Santa Rita at number 8! This places us not only among the leading brands from the New World, but also at the forefront of the industry! In 2020, JD.com’s 6.18 announced a record of USD 34 billion in sales during the online shopping event, which was launched and promoted earlier this year to propel economic recovery in a post coronavirus China. They also said that this year’s 618 is the sales promotion with the largest amount of discounts ever with most new product launches, providing over 200 million units at 50% discount and sell over 200 million units of new products. According to Tmall, another of the giant online sales companies, more than 100,000 brands signed up for this year’s Tmall 618, double the number last year. The activity has also evolved and now it includes greater interactive tools for brands to further their knowledge amongst buyers, becoming an interesting opportunity for companies to promote their products in ways that are more creative.
