Dublin, October 2019. Santa Rita Winemaker César Catalán is celebrating after scooping the top prize in the Under €15 Rosé category in the recent Irish Wine Show Star Awards run by the National Off-Licence Association (NoffLA).
Over 600 wines were submitted to the Star Award adjudication panel of NoffLA judges and independent wine journalists. Points were awarded according to appearance, aromas, taste and value for money and the winning 15 were selected as the best wines from key suppliers across a number of price categories.
The Santa Rita Limited Release Rosé came top of its class in the ‘Under €15 Rosé’ category. Made up of Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the foothills of the Andes with a small edition of Syrah, this pale pink wine has delicate citrus notes on the nose and an abundance of forest fruit flavours on the palate. RRP €12.50 available from Tesco, SuperValu and good independents.
César Catalán commented on the win: “I’m delighted to receive this trophy and for this wine to achieve the recognition it truly deserves. It’s great to be leading the field in the Rosé wine category which is now really starting to achieve traction in Ireland”
