A series of activations across Nanjing, Shanghai and Xi’an brought together strategic partners, wine enthusiasts and collectors from the Asian market to explore the evolution of Alto Maipo’s iconic wine through time.

From May 20 to 22, Casa Real carried out an extensive programme of activations across China, led by Commercial Director Marie-Charlotte Fraysse. The initiative brought together strategic partners, importers, buyers, collectors and private clients in Nanjing, Shanghai and Xi’an, with the objective of showcasing the wine’s historic vintages and further strengthening its presence in one of the world’s most significant wine markets.

The programme began in Nanjing, where Casa Real and importer Labeless hosted an exclusive wine-pairing dinner featuring the 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2022 vintages. The evening fostered engaging discussions around the evolution of a wine crafted exclusively in exceptional years.

The agenda continued in Shanghai with a distinguished masterclass led by sommelier Christian Zhang of Bettane+Desseauve, one of the world’s most respected wine criticism platforms and guides. The event welcomed local buyers and importers and was divided into two sessions: an exclusive presentation dedicated to Casa Real, featuring the 2017 and 2018 vintages, followed by a blind tasting of leading Cabernet Sauvignons from renowned wine regions around the world.

In this comparative tasting, the Maipo Valley icon was presented alongside internationally acclaimed wines such as Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Wynns John Riddoch, Castello di Rampolla Sammarco, Paul Hobbs Coombsville and Domaine Franco-Chinois, reaffirming its place among the world’s great expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Also in Shanghai, another Wine Dinner was hosted at Bellagio Shanghai for a select group of private clients, once again in partnership with Labeless.

The tour concluded in Xi’an with a dinner organized alongside importer Xi’an Minghui Wine & Spirit, bringing together private clients and key figures from the local wine community in an initiative aimed at strengthening relationships and supporting the continued development of the brand in the region.
