Casa Real at Vinous Icons Miami 2025 and Seminar of Iconic Wines
16 de November de 2025Winemaker Sebastián Labbé presented the 2022 vintage in the masterclass “Terroirs of South America”, led by Vinous magazine editor Joaquín Hidalgo, where prominent industry figures, including Laura Catena of Catena Zapata, Marcelo Papa of Concha y Toro, and Alexander Vik of VIK, tasted the finest wines from the region. Later, wine professionals and enthusiasts explored the evolution, balance, and complexity of this label through its 2005, 2010, and 2022 vintages in an exclusive walk-around tasting.
On November 14 and 15, the Bloom Ballroom at Jungle Island hosted the second edition of Vinous Icons Miami, an international fair dedicated to iconic wines organized by the influential U.S. magazine Vinous, bringing together leading wineries and top labels from around the world.
Among the participating estates, Viña Santa Rita stood out with Casa Real, a top wine made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that has established itself as one of the great international benchmarks of the variety. During the Walk Around Tasting, attendees experienced three decades of history through the 2005, 2010 and 2022 vintages, appreciating the consistency and elegance that define this emblematic wine from Alto Jahuel in the Maipo Valley.
The 2022 vintage also featured prominently in the masterclass “Terroirs of South America,” led by Joaquín Hidalgo, editor of Vinous, and joined by renowned winemakers from six iconic wineries in Chile and Argentina, including Sebastián Labbé of Casa Real, Laura Catena of Catena Zapata, Marcelo Papa of Concha y Toro, and Alexander Vik of VIK. The session presented a selection of Andean wines to explore their nuances, expressions and the influence of the Andes Mountains, as well as the distinctive characteristics of the region’s diverse terroirs.
Produced only in exceptional vintages, Casa Real has established itself as the purest expression of its variety and as a pioneer among South America’s icon wines since its first vintage in 1989. Through its participation in this event, leading figures of the wine industry discovered its identity and legacy of consistency, reaffirming its place among the world’s great wine icons.
