The Chilean wine from Viña Santa Rita stands out as one of the best tasted during the year, demonstrating its aging capacity.

October 2022. – Viña Santa Rita’s icon wine, Casa Real Reserva Especial 2018 was highlighted by the renowned North American magazine Wine Enthusiast as one of the 100 best “Cellar Selection” of the year. Also, was awarded with 94 points.

“A smooth and attractive nose is anchored by plum and cassis aromas. The palate on this benchmark Chilean Cabernet is electric in feel and boosted by firm but supple tannins and bright acidity. Plum, cassis and cherry flavors are dreamy, while piqued energy reemerges on a vigorous finish”, praised wine journalist Michael Schachner.

Casa Real Reserva Especial, from Alto Jahuel, combines the exceptional terroir of the Maipo Valley vineyards, the nobility of the Cabernet Sauvignon and a great winemaking experience. Being on this list demonstrates the unique personality of this 2018 vintage as the maximum expression of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, coming from one of the best terroirs in the world for the production of this variety.

Every year, Wine Enthusiast publishes its Top 100 Cellar Selection list, which is a ranking of the best wines tasted during the year. These demonstrate structure, consistency, trajectory and aging capacity, unique hallmarks of collectible wines that are worth keeping.

Other recognitions obtained by Viña Santa Rita were for Casa Real Reserva Especial 2019 and Triple C 2019, which reached 93 points. Also, Triple C 2018 and Medalla Real Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 obtained 90 points, while Secret Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, 120 Reserva Especial Carmenere 2020 and 120 Reserva Especial Chardonnay 2021 were named “Best Buy”, standing out for their great price and quality ratio.
