Recognized for its great aging potential, this emblematic Cabernet Sauvignon is positioned as a leader among the wines that have raised the bar in the Chilean wine scene since 1989. This has led it to receive this great recognition in the U.S. publication, which praises its complexity and elegance.

Viña Santa Rita’s icon wine, Casa Real Reserva Especial 2021, achieved its highest score in Vinous, adding a new milestone to its portfolio. With 97 points, it stood out as one of the most outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile, according to the report The Chilean Coast: Where the Pacific Shapes Vibrant Reds and Whites by wine journalist Joaquín Hidalgo.

Made in the Maipo Valley, is the result of a perfect combination: the exceptional terroir of Alto Jahuel, the nobility of its variety and a great oenological experience, come together to create a wine that is the pride of the national viticulture. It shows a “garnet-hued color and offers fruit-forward aromas with notes of currants and herbs. Dry and rich on the palate, the cool growing season contributed to juicy and refined tannins. This cuvee has evolved remarkably, standing out as an exceptionally complex and refined wine”, wrote the publication.

Vinous also gave outstanding scores to the wines of Colección de Origen. Pewën de Apalta 2022 topped the list with 96 points, a mature and elegant Carménère that reflects the potential of its variety, made in the granite soils of Apalta. Hidalgo described it as an “indulgent and rich red that outstands for its intense palate that lingers with a broad and clingy finish. The 2022 vintage offers a more precise fruit expression, with aromas of grapefruit and raspberry”.

The first high-end Petite Sirah in Chile, Bougainville 2021; the reinterpretation of the Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carménère, Triple C; and the oenological jewel with fresh fruity aromas and minimal oenological intervention, Floresta Carménère 2022; followed it with 94 points.

The magazine also highlighted Floresta Chardonnay 2022 and Floresta Field Blend Blanco 2022 with 93 points; while Floresta Cabernet Franc 2022, Floresta Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 and Medalla Real Gran Reserva Carménère 2022 received 92 points.

Meanwhile, Medalla Real Gran Reserva Chardonnay 2023 and Medalla Real Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 closed with 91 points.
