Medalla Real Gold Medal participates as official sponsor of EMA awards 2022

It is the only wine brand present at this event, which seeks to reward those productions and celebrities from the entertainment industry that promote awareness of sustainable issues.
October, 2022. The Environmental Media Association (EMA), American non-profit organization that operates as a link between the world of entertainment, entrepreneurs and celebrities is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and inspiring people to live sustainably.
In this context, Viña Santa Rita recently participated at the EMA Awards gala held at Los Angeles’ Sunset Las Palmas Studios, an event where those film and television productions that contribute to raising public awareness of environmental issues and inspire the community are rewarded and inspire to action.
As for the sustainability program that the vineyard has, Santa Rita – with its Medalla Real Gold Medal Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 wine – was part of this international event as the only wine brand. “It is a great opportunity that we have being present at an event with such high exposure, where celebrities and great figures promote sustainability in an industry that reaches millions of people, seeking to generate a real impact in caring for the environment,” said Elena Carretero, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director of Viña Santa Rita.
The participation of Medalla Real in the EMA Awards is part of the brand’s relationship with the cinema world. For years, Medalla Real has been supporting the film industry, being the first winery in Chile to create a short film, Decantados, as well as through participation in festivals and events such as Sanfic, In-Edit, FIC Valdivia, among others. This alliance with Ema manages to deliver a double relationship, since in addition to bringing us even closer to the world of cinema; it manages to create a link between cinema and sustainability.
During the event, the superstar Billie Eilish and her mother Maggie Baird were honorees with the EMA Missions in Music Award for their environmental work. Together they created “Overheated,” an extra component to Eilish’s Happier Than Ever, The World Tour, with climate-focused activities including clothing swaps, documentary screenings and plant-based conversations to communicate issues related to sustainable fashion.
For its part, Nikki Reed won the 2022 EMA Innovator Award for her eco-friendly lifestyle and jewelry brand, BaYou With Love. Likewise, “Don’t Look Up”, “Abbott Elementary”, “Yellowstone” and “The Problem with Jon Stewart” were among the productions praised for following ecological practices and telling stories of environmental justice, climate action and sustainability.
The night featured with more than 300 guests who were able to enjoy the music of the renowned DJ Samantha Ronson.
